Guest guest
Dear Ree, I have a ten year old with JRA and his started out of the blue as well. One day he was fine, the next he was complaining of leg pain and a swollen knee. We were certainly thrown in the deep end. We went through casualty where they kept my son in to do x rays and tests for various diseases. A week later he was diagnosed with JRA. Life was then a whirl of hospital appointments, medication, physio etc etc. It was so overwhelming. I guess thats how you are feeling now? That was four years ago. s JRA continues to surprise and at times overwhelm us. It has progressed from his right knee to both knees, both ankles and wrists. He has also begun to start showing signs in his neck. We are at this time into a nasty flare in his ankle, there seems no end to it and no improvement. He has been like this for two weeks now and it looks as though it will be a while before he is well enought to go back to school. Its hard coming to terms with the nature of JRA in the early days. All i can say is hang in there, find out as much info as you can about it, and keep posting! Over the months i have found this list a tremendous support. I hope you will too. Good luck carol ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
