Ursula

with melissa her resp rate is normal at 24 per minute

her heart rate is between 70 per minute and 90 normal for her

but she is also asthmatic and her medication albuterol sulfate and

albuterol soulution will cause her heart rate to rise alot and her resp

rate

we use a peak flow meter 70 on that will mean ER visit

what you need to do is look at her medical record and see what it has been

write it all down then the time it was done

go and average the numbers for a normal rate

some kids are different

if you are concerned talk with your doctor

my son had a heart murmur but he did good his heart rate was good

what has your child B/P been? when melissa is hurting hers will go up

the resp rate and heart rate and B/P will rise when the child is in pain

or haveing problems

always ask what they are when you go to the doctor

also you can ask for any copies you want and they should give these to you

and a summary of your childs condition for your own records

Ursula

i kept up with the kids and at 14 years old my son had high blood pressure

at this point we adjusted his eating habits and hes ok now with no medicines

potatoe chips he had to cut out and alot of salt

as a adult my B/P is 90/60 and goes to 97/76 which is normal for me

the so called normal is 120/80

Robbin - Macey's bp runs 110/70 which is good because a year or so ago it

was running 160/100 from all the Prednisone she had been on for her asthma.

our ped doesn't do vitals at the visits but her specialists do. I just

thought by this age her heart rate should be under 100. it doesn't even go

under 100 when she's asleep.
