Another question to ask is whether you have new carpeting in the house. The formaldehyde from that can affect you similarly. Keep the relative humidity below 50% eliminates the potential problem. Typical summer conditions of +60% RH on the lower levels of a building grow dust mites for sure and potentially mold.
