Guest guest
I lust learned that the Boston City Council is going to have hearings on the Toxic Mold in schools. Seems the media forced them into it. They were told of the School Toxic Mold last April at a hearing but nothing happened. I spoke at the hearing and suggested testing that the Teachers Union representative supported. Sadly, neither the Union or teachers were interested in speaking on Beacon Hill about Toxic Mold legislation. At the March hearing, 3 companies spoke of their Air Quality inspections at City Hall. All 3 reports sounded identical. None mentioned Toxic Mold. I guessed that they were not "asked" to look at the Toxic Mold issue. I questioned if a RFP had been put out as required by State Law. I know that if a "full" and "professional" test is done it would cost many thousands of dollars to do City Hall. It cost 4 thousand for my small home. As I guessed, no RFP was put out as the law demands. Three phone calls were made. "Mysteriously" each charged about 2 thousand dollars. Seems the City paid for what it wanted the people to know. See the reply to my question - Hi Ken: I spoke to Sinagra from Property Management who said that there was no RFP that asked for the inspections, but rather three telephone bids were conducted. All were all under $5,000 and the average cost of the testing was $2,000. Hope this answers your question. As you can see, if you set up the process you can get exactly what you want, a white wash. In this case many people are sick. Many are school children.
