Guest guest
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/10082002_nw_demold.html Mold Forces DE Residents from Apartments ELSMERE-October 8, 2002 - State health officials have forced about 30 residents of an Elsmere apartment complex out of their homes and more than 100 others are expected to be forced to leave today. Officials have condemned 13 buildings at the Fenwick Park Apartments on Cypress Avenue. Building inspectors have found traces of mold, rodent and insect infestation, open sewer lines and faulty electrical wiring. 26 buildings remain to be inspected. Town officials say up to 700 people could be left homeless. Elsmere Town Manager Eugene Boneker says the problem most likely is linked to a 1989 flood that destroyed 39 basement apartments. Several residents at an Elsmere town meeting last night said they and their children were suffering from flu-like symptoms. State health officials have not actually found a link between the conditions and the health problems. (Copyright 2002 by The Associated Press. .)
