Janet,

Good luck to you. I do not even have a union to back me. The Washington State Labor & Industries will step in to help me if the hospital tries to discriminate against me by firing or demoting. That is why I was strongly urged to find another job. Right now they are playing mind games with me. I am an embarrassment to them as I am a "poster child" for mold contamination and I am very vocal about it to anyone who will listen.

The Doctors that I work with are furious. One of them called maintenance today to complain of the fumes in the OR rooms. The OR is directly over a loading dock for the warehouse and staff has complained of diesel fumes for years. He was very angry and complained about everyone being sick. I have said for years that the HVAC system is messed up. Of course, my HVAC engineer daughter in Boston told me years ago that they were making me sick from sloppy maintenance of the HVAC at work.

Eileen, my union is not backing me now. They have backed off and changed tune. I do not know why president of union is bringing shipard shrink here. I believe it is for him to see how I react and report back to shipyard commander. I am sorry about you too. This is terrible. People dont understand. I am also the"poster child" rthey want to prove crazy and I am a whistleblower. Not good. I send my best. I am going to be starting to work with an environmental dr. in Portland. He seemed genuine, understanding and when I showed him pictures and said what Boston did, he was horrifried..As I am. I wish you well...Janet

Janet,

I think that emotions play a large part of this. Chronic illness wears the best of us down and when there is disbelief from our employers it is even more difficult.

Over the past four years I have had episodes at work where the pain behind my eye was so intense that it brought me to tears. I went to the evening shift because of the constant subtle harassment from my managers because they felt I was not working "up to speed" on occasion. I was also put in difficult rooms with heavy case loads almost daily. I wear a mask in the OR's and was gasping for breathe in some of the rooms. I would run out into the hall sucking in air. Coworkers would tell me that my face would be bright red. This past Mon. I was in tears again while talking with my boss as she told me to find another job. I know she is in a tough spot as she gave me the test report on molds present. I am sure she has been told to get me out. My tears were from anger, frustration and disappointment that my Director thought so little of her staff''s well being. Of course, I had to wash my face off and go out to work with a smile. Puffy eyes just do not make it though. Hard to believe I can be tough as nails in the thick of work caring for my patients but fall apart trying to deal with this. I guess my body is still not strong enough to fight all of the battles.

On one occasion when it seemed we (the staff) were all reacting to something my Director said she was going to put hormones in the drinking water. She blamed everyone's erratic behavior on PMS. I have seen five people (three of them RN's) fired in the past five years. The last nurse was fired two months ago. She had complained of air quality last year. I have never seen a nurse fired before from anyplace unless it was involving substance abuse or negligence. Of the five two told me that their termination resulted after an extremely stressful time in their life--death of a father or sister.

Hi

This is Janet`s mother. She is not doing well. She still is having bad

reactions from her trip to Boston. Her legs are really giving her

problems. She can hardly walk, and they are very painful. She has seen

an environmental doctor, who says he can help her. She likes him very

much, and hopes he can help her. Workman`s Comp called her yesterday,

and gave her a very hard time, as usual.

Letter to my senator advisor whom has been trying to help me..Janet s

Dear Mr. Morin,

First I would like to thank you for ALL your help. My mother was pleased you took the time to talk to her as my parents are very concerned for me the more sick get and the treatment from OWCP and The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

I have to write and let you know that I talked and argued yesterday for half an hour with Jerry , Claims Examiner for OWCP. I have NEVER been so insulted and talked down to in all my life. He will not accept a letter from new Nevironmental Doctor that I shouldnt be tested again when I go to where OWCP wants me to go. He said he didnt believe about DR. Longs horriffic testing and reactions. He said the only reason he hasnt shut me off is because I have a senator involved, he said I was trying to milk this. i am so severely reacting still from Dr. Long.I am back on higher dose of steroids. Everything I said to him he gave me another hoop to jump through. Terry,IFPTE president and the Shipyard Counselor were here at my home yesterday. They can attest how I am. Jerry wont accept Dr. s letter because he says Dr. didnt say 100 percent caused. He didnt want picvtures, says for all he knows mold only showed up in that basement last season. My God. They wont let people go down there now without respiratory quals. I worked in this then above it. I sent proof I worked there. Environmental report states high levels of toxicity in the basement plus where I have been sitting over it for last three years. He also told me he can say yea or nay to the new Dr. Py I am going to start working with who is the Environmental Medicine Doctor. He was horrible. I got so upset I asked him if he makes it this hard and talks that way to everyone. I asked him if he thought I was torturing my body just for the fun of it...He says ,go to Arizona. I had to send a testimony of witness whom was with me in Boston. I feel this is horrendus behvior and I cannot inject any more mold into my body.It will kill me. I cant even walk now and still react with swollen HOT skin, painfull muscles ,my knees will swell three times their size and asthma severe from what Dr. Long in Boston did to me.

Thanks for listening,

Janet A. s
