hip replacement recalled

yes, i said hip replacement recalled. those words scared the mess

out of me, becuase i dont want to do those again for a long time. it

was in a local newspaper, a hip replacement made by sculcer or

something like that was recalled due to defect. there was a number

to a lawyers office to call to find out more. so, i did. the joints

were not sterile, were not cleaned correctly, and had some kind of

residue on them. my guess is they are causing some serious

infections. they told me to call my surgeon and he should be able to

tell me the brand of joint replacements i have. there must have been

a bunch of people calling about it because i didnt even finish asking

and they said no, i have joints made by zimmer and they are supposed

to be the rolls royce of joint replacements. whew!! thank God. can

you imagine being one of those unfortunate people? you already had

to go through having a hip replacement and now you find out its being

recalled?! shoot me and forget it. my grandmother said at least i

would get some money, but i would rather keep my hips. i will admit

though, id rather do a hip any day than have to re-do a knee. oh

well, just thought you'd find this interesting, brandy

... you must have been so anxious! I'm glad your replacement

wasn't done with this type. One less thing to worry about
