An agenda item listed under the closed session portion of the meeting addresses the " deliberation on employment, evaluation, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee: Superintendent. " The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at the BISD Administration building on Price Road. " BISD attorneys came to us with additional concerns regarding Dr. Noe Sauceda. They wanted to bring them up to the board of trustees for possible action, " BISD Board President Herman Otis Powers Jr. said. Powers said it was premature to comment on the nature of the concerns, but added that if the board deems it necessary to take action on the agenda item, the concerns will be made public at that time. BISD Board Attorney Mike Saldaña will present the concerns to the board, along with attorneys from Escamilla & Poneck Inc., Powers said. During the open meeting, school board trustees are scheduled to once again tackle the mold issue at Aiken Elementary and Besteiro Middle schools. According to agenda documents, the board is set to approve an " architect/engineer firm to assist the district in the Aiken/Besteiro Mold Renovations/Remediation Project. " An administrative committee has recommended Engineering and Fire Investigations, a Houston-based firm, to help work on the two schools. Aiken and Besteiro have been closed since January because of mold in the library and cafeteria areas. BISD elementary school #139 will be one step closer to reality if board members approve an administrative recommendation to approve JDS Construction Co. Inc, for construction services. According to agenda documents, the contract is worth $5.98 million, including $5.93 million for the base bid and $43,500 for the data and phone line installations. The elementary, which will sit between FM 3248 and the Quail Hollow subdivision, west of Laredo Road, is expected to replace Clearwater Elementary.
