Guest guest
Hi- I am new here and have a couple of questions. Friends of mine suspect they have toxic mold, and were told to leave their home. In an effort to help them out, we kept their two children for a couple of days, including an overnight. Should I be concerned about mold spores that may have been brought into my home on their clothing/baby blankets/hair? The baby's things were put on my bed (where she napped and slept at night), and I started getting sick the day they left. I have a sore throat/sinus thing, which I am hoping is coincidental. Now we realize that the blankets and clothes should not have been brought into the house, but it is too late. Should I be concerned? Also, we have items in storage at their home, mostly in taped cardboard boxes. The inspector that was there thought it would be fine to take them if we wiped them down with a bleach solution. Any thoughts on this? Thank you very much, Amy
Guest guest
What a person brings into their home, or who a person allows in their home is a very personal question. It has as much to do with customs as it does with perception of allowing unknown threats to the family come into your home. I would recommend that you install some hepa filters into your ventilation system if you have a central unit, or buy a bagless vacumn with a good hepa filter. Offer to wash, or dry clean items that your friends have come to visit within their overnight bags. If your home is under the right circumstances to develop mold, you probably already have it your home is making you feel the way you are, not the friends. The rationale is that what ever your friends do bring with them has established a territory in the old home (host) and is looking for a new host (your home). Survival of the fittest even if it is mold and germinates. You do not want the friends mold competing with your mold. To me it seems like a very toxic combination. I do not recommend bringing their family possessions into abode (castle) for preservation. That is what storage units are for. Those items can be repurchased and brought into your home. Some people have reported mushrooms pushing out of a closet carpet totaly consuming an athletic shoe. We see the mushrooms every season from the spores on the surface of the ground, and sometimes from furtile cow patties. (Sorry for being graphic) but molds do have thier preferences and you don't want it to favor your house. If all else fails with working it out with your friend, just ask them to come to the kitchen fill the biggest pot and start boiling water. When the friend ask you what you are doing just explain thats what the midwife ask us to do when someone is expecting. The boiling pot either has a purpose for cleanup, prevention of infection, or something for the nervous nelly to occupy them. Good rule of thumb if it smells, and it is not cheeze it is probably a good reason it smells.
Guest guest
Daphne, I have noticed that. since starting LDN about 5 weeks ago, my forehead has been covered with little bumps. Never connected it with LDN, but it could be. It is not bothering me much so I will keep on the same regimen. Also, for those people who suffer leg stiffness, I have found that you get a tub full of hot (as hot as you can stand) water, and put two cups of epsom salts in it. Have a scented candle and just relax for about 45 minutes. It seems to melt the stiffness and achiness away. I live in Northern Kentucky and the weather was cloudy (we have not seen the sun for about 10 days) and the temperature was in the 40's. After my swim, I was doing errands in shorts. People thought I was crazy, but this is the weather I love. Peace! VCL 1. My skin and complexion actually improved on LDN. 2. Is it because I shut down my computer every night that I get instant(next day) results? Has anyone ever had an "itchy" face or skin from LDN? I noticed that even my moisturizing cream was kind of burning my face for the past few days and last night my skin was just "itchy" So I'm wondering if it's the LDN from the new place as I've only been using it a bit over a week. (that red capsule I talked about before) 2. It took 2 weeks for to get me changed from Daily Digest to sending individual posts and now I'm flooded, of course. I've reset to go back to Daily Digest, but do you think it will take 2 weeks to get reset again? Has anyone noticed how long it takes to respond? No wonder some of these people are going nuts trying to get off! Daphne
