Guest guest
My brest friend Dan Maglaras wrote this letter to 20/20. He is the friend who wont let me give up when I am sick and when I am tired and he takes care of some work things and helps me deal with US Dept. of Labor Workemens Comp. I dont think Dan will mind if I share..even to the Portsmouth Ship[tard Commander and Senator Snowe and advisor Morin of Maine...My tears and fraustration are with all of you...Janet I saw your show last night about toxic mold and I have to say that I was disgusted and shocked at your callousness. I have a very dear friends who is sick from toxic mold in the work place. I have spent many hours with her watching her suffer from sever muscle pain, sinus pain, asthma attacks that she never had until her long term exposure to mold. It IS real...people DO get sick from mold and I was appalled and extremely angry watching Barbara Walters and friends laughing at the suffering of my friend. "Just clean your house and don't worry about it." We did not find anything funny about what we saw on that show. The people who have had to abandon their homes, the man who has had memory loss from his exposure to mold. I'm afraid that someone has led you astray. It is real. Insurance companies naturally do not want to pay people what they have coming, so they lie, and they pay others to lie for them. My friend is battling Workers Compensation, who hires doctors to tell them that there is no such thing as sickness due to toxic mold. If these people should spend a few days in the shoes of my friend and the others like her, they wouldn't be so eager to laugh like they did on your show last night. There is nothing funny about it. My friend has submitted her story to 20/20, and has been ignored. Is that because she can't pay like the big insurance companies can? She doesn't have the influence that they have? She has plenty of influence with me. I spend every evening with her watching her suffer, and not once have I found that funny. It makes me want to cry. I don't care about the insurance companies, I care about her. Then to see the heartless news media laugh at her makes me very angry. I would hope that in the future, you would have a little more compassion for people like her instead of trying to protect the insurance companies. Thank you for your time.
