Mold is everywhere and serves many useful purposes, such as recycling of nutrients. But when it builds up in extremely high numbers inside a warm and humid home following a water leak, it can cause more than just an exacerbation of existing allergies. Chronic exposure to very high levels of some of the most toxic of molds, ie Stachybotrys atra, Aspergillus flavus or A. niger or A. fumigatus, etc, have been shown to cause adverse health effects in otherwise healthy individuals. THAT is what I said,...... and I have said it as an expert witness in many lawsuits, in many states, for many years. Get my comments from the tapes of CBS Evening News, ABC Morning News or read the articles in the different newspapers regarding what I said during interviews, or my comments solicited by congressman Conyer's office regarding the pending legislation to establish a national policy on mold. I have been telling the same story for 27 years based on 30 years of doing sick building sampling for toxic materials including mold, pesticides, formaldehyde, solvents, paint fumes, etc....anything that can be the possible cause of someone's symptoms.

Remember, I am also an expert witness for major insurance companies and major builders as well as for plaintiffs. I follow the science and do not have an agenda or any preconceived ideas about whether mold is harmful.
