Guest guest
Hi Becki, When was having stomache problems he had to temporarily discontinue Indomethacin. Within a couple days, it was apparent he needed something to pick up the slack. The doctor gave him Relafen to take for a couple of weeks, to go easier on his tummy (this was prior to the advent of the cox II inhibitors). It wasn't quite enough. Even after doubling the dose he still had a lot of joint pain and inflammation. Since he'd been taking cytotec since the problems began, the doctor said let's re-introduce indomethacin to see how it goes. Everything worked out, so he's been continuing to take it. Guest guest
Hi Robbin, He takes 25mcg Cytotec in the mornings and evenings and that seems to be doing a pretty good job. He hasn't had any stomache complaints at all, in a very long time. He always takes them all with food, too. Several of them advise to be taken with food or milk, like you said. I was a little bummed out reading Becki's MTX info, where it said MTX pills taken with food aren't absorbed quite so well as on an empty stomache. Josh says he doesn't feel quite as bad when he takes it right after eating. That's probably why! But ... he gets it by injection every other week, so hopefully it all evens out.
