Money has also been set aside in case other schools need similar help. In a meeting Thursday night, the commission voted to fund the mold ratification at Heritage. Dozens of students and teachers there are having medical problems, and mold is being blamed as the cause. More than $1 million was set aside in anticipation that a mold clean-up would be needed at Blount High School and Montvale, Friendsville and Walland elementary schools.
