I think that parents 40 years ago and even 25 years ago when I was a kid were far less aware of their effect on their children. It was more a time of " children should be seen and not heard. " I think parents now are more concerned with how they treat their children and the long term effects of that. I think that is why I had my concerns in the first place. It's funny, back when we were kids the term " dysfunctional family " didn't even exist! I am trying to remember to give Skyler the attention that he deserves. He is very important to me. I hope that you are able to mend fences with your family. It saddens me that they would feel any animosity toward you. I'm glad that you have found the family of this group. Welcome and take care.
