Georgia is appealing

Great, great news!

The state of Georgia is appealing our son Jimmy's recent Medicaid win. The

crux of the state's case is their position that it is inconceiveable that 5

or 6 or 7 or so pediatric neurologists could be wrong--despite the evidence.

The state of Georgia is still not acknowledging what Jimmy's SPECT-scans

taken before/after Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy mean.

His SPECT-scans reveal brain tissue that wasn't functioning before is now

functioning--because his brain blood flow has increased by 25.4%--which is

an increase of 2540% over the normal rate of increase (1%) in brain blood

flow.

The great news is that when we win at this level, it will create a legal

precedent for other brain-injured children. Right now it's a moral

precedent.

Right now, if parents will go through this process with their own state

agencies, their states will probably throw in the towel and decide to

reimburse for HBOT.

This is important because at this next level in the legal ladder, we can

bring in evidence as to what the other state Medicaid programs are doing.

In other words, if the states voluntarily decide to reimburse HBOT, we can

introduce this as evidence--which will help create the legal precedent for

every kid in every state.

A couple of side benefits:

1. Regular health insurance will probably also start reimbursing since

they'll follow the lead of Medicaid/HCFA.

2. The rest of the world might then follow the lead of the US healthcare

" system " , i.e., brain-injured children around the world can also benefit.

3. Whenever the government has to pay for something, it next has to ensure

the taxpayers that the taxpayers are getting " their money's worth " . What

this means for us parents is that it's quite likely that the government

will next invest hundreds of millions--if not billions--into hyperbaric

research for neurological indications.

This is critical for our children and loved ones because what is now known

about the full potential of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is only the tip of

the iceberg because there has never been serious or substantial

investment--except to debunk its use.

I encourage you all to pursue this worthy endeavor.

Together we can make a difference.

Separately we may never make a difference.
