Pat,

Until this past May no one had any proof of a problem in the building. I am the person who finally obtained the "infamous" report after 4 months of badgering my boss. She and others in upper management were told that there was no problem. She could not even look me in the eye when she handed me the results of Industrial Hygiene company. The first time I asked her she had the gall to tell me that she would move my locker to the other end of the room.

Two weeks ago I was asked by my Internist to speak with the Medical Director about the problem. He was furious that I would approach him. He said that he was at the Executive Meeting this past winter where all of the administrators were told that a little mold in a building is not a problem as long as the air quality was OK. He said "a little aspergillus hurt no one".

My doctors feel as if their hands are tied. This hospital is the only one in the area thus the only place to admit their patients. I for one would not want my patients there.

Dec.9 I have to see another MD for a second opinion which the hospital has chosen.Oddly,I have four Doctors who all agree that it is work related. This is only the beginning of this new madness.

I have been told to find a new job--for my health's sake but offered no accommodations at work until I find one. My fear is that I may not be able to function appropriately at the new job but know that this one will kill me if I stay.

Eileen
