Guest guest Posted March 24, 2003 Report Share Posted March 24, 2003 http://www.chicagotribune.com Toxic gases send 5 to hospital March 22, 2003ELK GROVE VILLAGE -- Five people were taken to a hospital after being exposed to toxic gases at an Elk Grove Village circuit board manufacturing plant Friday.They had complained of headaches and were treated and released from ian Brothers Medical Center by Friday evening, according to a nursing supervisor.The buildup of hydrogen chloride and chlorine gases was detected inside Amitron in the 2000 block of Landmeier Road shortly before 10 a.m., according to Elk Grove Village Deputy Fire Chief .About 30 of the approximately 120 workers were evacuated for about three hours, he said.
