Guest guest
Oh about insurance companies. They accepted my insurance company and I do not live in TX. I have State Group Insurance. A local doctor in my area who is family practice is involved with intergrative type medicine. She believes in the yeast connection, mercury toxicity, vaccines causing auistic children(wrote a book on Immunizations) does chelation therapy etc. She does not even accept insurance, you have to pay in advance and file on your own. I have found that the doctors who do different types of test do not except insurance. Dr. does accept all PPO insurance companies. The insurance companies go by the basic standard of care treatments. However, it does not mean these other test or not legitimate or very useful. I went and saw a local doctor to have a test done that I had learned about on a group site. The test was done through Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratories ( Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysia). The lab will give you practitioners in an area who utilizes them. I called each one, and you had to pay out of pocket first. Then the doctor office I chose filed for me. The lab has a very good reputation and I have read about it in many books, of course these book are centered around healing health problems and not just treating them. I think unless we have basic common test that don't involve looking into medicine through a different avenue we are going to have more problems with insurance companies and cost. Any form of environmental medicine and the such is just not recognized by insurance companies yet and unfortunately that makes things difficult for us as the health care consumers. We can chose to see a Rheumatologist, Neurologist etc., however, my experience with the Rheumatologist was oh- you have Fibromyalgia, no cure just take elavil for pain, zoloft for depression, neurontin for nerve pain and just live with it. With the neurologist-nothing can be done about pudendal neuropathy, it has not even been studied much- just continue taking Neurontin for the nerve pain, therefore it hurts to wear underwear and clothes, sit, walk, can't have intercourse or any intimate contact, and feels like I am sitting on a cactus on fire with horrible spasms of the pelvic area muscles, pins and needle sticks to clitoral area,. painful bowel movements and tissue atrophy- from the neuropathy(that nerve innervates the rectal and entire vaginal area). I guess it is a chance we have to take if we want to see someone who treats patients different than the standard of care doctors. All this makes me very scared now. Every doctor except Dr. told me I would never be cured from all my problems and would have to learn to live with the pain and accept all the changes this has caused to my life. Dr. never told me that I would definately be cured but he gave me hope. To concerned mold patient, what doctor are you seeing? I hope we all find our CURE someday.
