Guest guest
For anybody that hasn't seen the news, a nightclub fire in Warwick Rhode Island has killed at least 54 and injured over 150 people. This tragedy didn't have to happen. It seems that their were no permits for the pyrotechnic display as required by law. State Law also requires inspection and the presence of the State Fire Marshal. I have seen no reports of emergency lighting being there or if the smoke detectors were on or working. There was also no water sprinkler systems and the ceilings were low. I have family, to include a Daughter in that area. Luckily, none were there. I also know one of the owners of the club where the fire happened. He is Jeff Daderain. Jeff is a television reporter for Channel 7, CBS, in Boston. He use to be with Channel 6, ABC, in Providence. While with Channel 6 he did two stories on the illegal construction of our home. With Channel 7 he covered our Beacon Hill meeting with State Senator Rob O'Leary last year on my Toxic Mold bill. It will be interesting to see what charges are brought and against whom. It would seem the club and band are liable. What about the town and state inspectors and fire Marshall? Sadly, people died and their families suffered. I hope Justice is given for the dead and injured. Ken Moulton 580-581-1657
