THIS IMPORTANT ALERT was forwarded from Red Flags Daily. RFD reported

that the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS)

criticized the new rules saying that, " Under the new federal rules

passed in the 'HIPAA' bill, your medical records will be sent to

third-parties, such as the government, marketers, and insurance

NEW " PRIVACY " RULES FOR PATIENTS?

Here's a typical report on the patient privacy rules that went into

effect today in the U.S.

In reading the piece, one would get the impression that these new

privacy rules are, well, as one physician put it, " the biggest thing

to hit the health care sector since Medicare. "

There is nothing in the piece that suggests there may be problems with

these new " privacy " rules.

Therefore, you might want to read the following statement from the

Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) that claims,

" Under the new federal rules passed in the 'HIPAA' bill, your medical

records will be sent to third-parties, such as the government,

marketers, and insurance companies, without your consent. "

That view is certainly a far cry from the positive hoopla about the

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability ACT of 1996 (HIPAA).
