Insurance Rates On The RiseHomeowners' insurance rates are going through the roof.The Consumer Federation of America says a lot of state insurance departments are reporting some startling annual price increases.Nationally, on average, costs went up about 3% each year in the late 1990’s.But in the year 2001, insurance costs jumped nearly 7%. And last year, the jump was 13%.The recent surge is linked to things like weather-related disasters, toxic mold claims, and the threat of a terrorist attack.
