Guest guest
, Thank you for joining the listserv. I'm sure you will make wonderful contributions here. Upon joining, automatically sent you four or five pdf files explaining in detail the Medicaid law for children (EPSDT) and how it specifically relates to HBOT. So as to demonstrate the explanation is not just theory, included in those pdfs are a number of court decisions, primarily (I think) from Freels vs the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) (Georgia Medicaid). In order for to achieve his greatest success, I cannot encourage you enough to review those documents and the others found at medicaid/files/ It is essential for you to know and understand Medicaid law and EPSDT better than anyone you speak with at Georgia Medicaid. It is also essential that you become well-educated and knowledgeable on the attributes of hyperbaric therapy and its potential for healing . The documentation at medicaid/files/ is freely available to you to help you. Further, because 90+% of your work is already done by Freels v DCH, take full advantage of this. 's condition is somewhat more complicated than most; however, Georgia DCH has three times officially recognized the unparalleled expertise of Dr Harch, MD on treating pediatric brain-injury with HBOT. He is the person who could best assess and prescribe the most beneficial HBOT protocol for . I think it's wonderful that you have a family friend who operates hyperbaric chambers, but most likely s/he will not know the most appropriate treatment protocol for . Dr Harch's website is http://www.hyperbarics.org . His practice is located in New Orleans. EPSDT mandates HBOT if it is " necessary to correct or ameliorate " . Further, EPSDT also mandates coverage of your transportation costs as well. Again, welcome. Is there a place here in GA? I know the man in charge of this group is from GA so I am hoping he can give me insight. I am working with DReam House for medically fragile children, and we have just devloped a team to help get all he needs and deserves.
