This is the largest group on HBOT on the internet. We have several

professionals on this group who are here to answer your questions and

provide assistance. They are experienced and trained and they are

Board Certified Hyperbaric Technologists. They have invest years of

their lives to following and developing proper protocols to provide

the very best in HBOT.

The reason treating Autism with HBOT became so popular was because

they were getting such wonderful results using HBOT with 100%

oxygen. That is why it is called Oxygen Therapy, you use oxygen at

ATA of 1.5 or higher which results in an oxygen delivery system to

areas of cell damage and it is the only possible way to get oxygen to

those areas. It is done with saturation of oxygen which can only be

done under pressure. You must have the oxygen there to reach that

level which is why it requires 100% oxygen.

We will not get into the controversy of mhbot which became popular

because Oxyhealth began putting a lot of money into sponsorship of

DAN conferences. So the DAN docs had only them to listen to and,

therefore, they thought it was the real thing. That is why so many

of them have soft chambers which are NOT approved for Oxygen

use. Many of the DAN docs are now switching back to regular hbot

after realizing the amazing DIFFERENCE in results. Note that I said

difference. Yes, there is some success using mhbot with autism but

it is normally temporary. If you have a chamber at home, you will

see some results depending on the problem being treated. However, as

soon as you cease using that chamber you will see regression. If

you have a home chamber, that is great, but please do regular HBOT

with 100% oxygen every 12 months to achieve the results your child needs.

Years ago at a conference in Florida, Dr. , Dr. Fojgel, Samir

Patel(Oxyhealth) and myself met to discuss using the combination of

mild and regular HBOT for the most optimum hbot therapy program

available in the world. It is call Baro-Therapy. All were in

agreement this would be the most beneficial program ever developed in

HBOT. I always record my conversations at a conference or special

meetings for future reference. Samir Patel was in agreement that

regular HBOT should be used in conjunction with mhbot. I have that on tape.

To make a long story short, BaroTherapy would and is still the

optimum use of HBOT. The BaroTherapy program we were developing

would involve many of the freestanding centers, including those on

this list. It was a well-designed program with professional medical

advisors, etc. available for follow up and supervision of the

program. I wanted it to be sponsored by a non profit organization

to keep the commercialism out of it. It would either be the IHMA or

the IHA. I agreed to the IHA at the insistance of Mr.

Patel. After finding out that the IHA was being misrepresented as a

501©3 and after Mr. Patel refused to let parent representation on

the board of the IHA and finally getting a copy of the bylaws of the

IHA, it was obvious this organization was set up to sell Oxyhealth

Chambers. I will add that the IHA is now a legitimate 501©3 but

they only work and sponsor events, etc which will promote Oxyhealth

chambers. Therefore we dropped the plans because it would have

turned a good viable plan into a marketing method for Oxyhealth

chambers. I was offered the opportunity to become the exclusive

marketer for brain injury Oxyhealth and I turned it down. Another story.

Now, back to this list. This list was set up to provide information

for parents on HBOT for their autistic children and adults. Until a

soft sided chamber is developed that is safe for Oxygen use at proper

pressures which will meet the requirements of the FDA and ASME, this

group will not participate in the discussion of how to use the mild

chambers. It is unfair for me to expect the professionals on this

list to particpate in providing information using oxygen in an

unapproved chamber.

Therefore, if you ask a question about using your home chamber or

which involves the use of a soft chamber with oxygen, etc. it will

not be approved. If there is pertinent and factual information

which involves your safety posted, it will be approved as a message

to the group. There is a group set up for mhbot but the only

professionals you will find on it are those involved in the use of

the mhbot, either renting them or otherwise promoting their use for profit.

I think there can be a great future in portable chambers and they can

be a wonderful thing, especially since the ignorance that prevails in

the medical profession has the attitudes it presently has on

HBOT. When that happens with a safe chamber and factual information

utilizing facts and not the propaganda of Oxyhealth or any company to

sell their chambers, the information will be allowed on this list and

the professionals on this list will be happy to participate. At the

present time, if a professional tells the truth or gives the facts on

the safe use of mild chambers, the get attacked by an angry parent

who has paid thousands of dollars for a chamber not approved for

oxygen use and approved only for use to treat altitude sickness.

If you presently have a soft chamber, please continue to use it

without oxygen and in a manner which is safe for your child. But

PLEASE do regular HBOT with oxygen at least once a year to provide

the results your child deserves. Someday, the greed and agendas

which are the enemy of anyone trying to get proper care using hbot

will be reduced so we can all work together to provide optimum

results for your child, but until that happens, you are at the mercy

of everyone who has an opinion. When you hear an opinion, first

look at the Agenda of the person giving the opinion and then weigh

the opinion using the facts available to support that opinion.

My health has failed considerably in the last year and I am becoming

more limited in my involvement in this industry and there will be

some happy faces when I am totally gone. When that happens you will

probably be subjected to only one-sided and biased information

designed to provide profit for someone so you will need to look at it

with an open mind. Ultimately, the only person making decisions for

your child's treatments and safety is you. Your decision is final

and is the decision which will involve the future quality of life for

the rest of your child's life.

You are a great group of wonderful parents. I know many of you do

not agree with me but that is your right and I respect it. I hope

you understand what I am trying to accomplish.
