THE TEXAS HOMEBUILDER BILL, HOUSE BILL 730 WILL BE HEARD THURSDAY MAY 8 AT

9:00 AM AT THE TEXAS STATE CAPITOL. THIS IS THE MOST ANTI-CONSUMER BILL WE

HAVE SEEN TO DATE. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

If you are interested in testifying at the hearing concerning new home

construction defects, please take a few minutes to review the following. If

you have never done this before, we will help you. Your support would be

GREATLY appreciated to stop this bill crafted by the builders for the

builders.

Time and Date:

The bill will be heard in the Business and Commerce committee which meets

Thursday may 8 at 9:00am. See

http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlo/schedule/2003/C5102003050809001.HTM to

check the status of the bill HB730. (check before you go, just in case) a

Place:

Austin Capitol Betty King Committee Room (Senate chamber)

Come into the capitol on the east side go to the 2nd floor. If you get lost,

ask for the Senate floor.

Suggestions:

Get there early to sign in and speak. It is first come first serve. There

will be lots of builders there. Look for me. I will be wearing a grey suit

with a yellowish tie.

Park on 13th and San Jacinto. Big pink parking lot. 1 block from the

capitol.

Be prepared. I suggest writing your speech and providing a copy to them.

There is a cafeteria in the building. A good one. Once you speak, plan on

visiting your representative and senator. We can show you how to find them.

Bring a copy of your testimony for them.

FOCUS. Focus on the bill. I suggest telling the Senators what happened to

you, then how will this bill will help or hurt you.

Reference:

If you are interested, I have a detailed report on the bill. I can email it

to you.
