Guest guest
, I am the mother of a 4 yo autistic & apraxic boy. You are correct in stating this is a very difficult area to navigate and get appropriate treatments for our children. However, there is an incredible wealth of knowledge from a dedicated group of physicians through DAN! - Defeat Autism Now. http://www.autism.com/index.htm, Dr. Rossignol is one of the stars within DAN, especially when it comes to HBOT. Basically when it comes to treating our children on the spectrum we have to search out these doctors and pay out of pocket. Insurance rarely covers anything and taking the information to your local pediatrician usually falls on deaf ears, the fact there is a lack of training or that it is out of their " scope " of practice. It is a huge frustration and enormous financial burden. But, here is the good news - these kids can improve, get better and even recover! I wholeheartedly encourage you to attend a DAN! conference and practitioner training. We need doctors like you to learn and be willing to help. Autism isn't going away anytime soon so we need more bright minds. The knowledge you would gain is not just specifically geared to " autism " it will be beneficial for ALL of your patients. Another fabulous conference in Chicago - Autism One http:// www.autismone.org/ They too are offering a DAN physician training. This might be a great place to get your feet wet. Thank you for your insight and open mindedness to consider helping & healing our kids. Sincerely, Nora Middleton tikigal@... Ps. I'll be at Autism One - If your there I'll buy you a drink or coffee! Guest guest
, I am so very glad that you are posting this interview you had with Dr. Rossignol. I have worked very closely with this wonderful physician and tried my hardest through out the last few years to get the word out about just how amazing he, and quite frankly the Wisconsin Integrative Hyperbaric Center (WIHC) really is. I have had the fantastic opportunity to see so many beautiful and amazing things happen because of Dr. Dan and everyone involved with WIHC. Again thank you for giving some gentle praise and hopefully credit where credit is due. Because, honestly, at the end of the day we are all here for one reason and one reason alone, to help our children. Thank you. ita Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular [ ] An interview with Dr. Dan Rossignol about autism/HBOT Hi folks, Yesterday I had the opportunity, while at the Wisconsin Integrative Hyperbarics Center, to meet and interview Dr. Dan Rossignol, who specializes in the treatment of kids with autism. I taped the interview, and will try to get it transposed quickly, and then post here for you to read. It was a fascinating interview. I learned so much about autism, and the current treatment options, and more, I can only imagine how difficult it is for parents to access the latest information. As a Family Practice physician myself, I have had absolutely no training or education regarding autism. If that represents what most physicians know, and I imagine that's the case, having a child with autism and trying to access good medical care must be a nightmare for many parents. So I hope it will be helpful; please realize it will take a few days to get this done, at the earliest. best regards, --- Camiroquaiaol (DOT) <mailto:Camiroquai%40aol.com> com wrote: > , the link doesn't work for the story. > > > > > > **************Ideas to please picky eaters.
