Guest guest
Hi all, I just wanted to say thank you for the warm welcome and kind words. My time is short right now as I am in the house and feeling crappy. We bought a trailer and parked it outside of the house for now. WAS the cheapest solution we could come up with. We did have an air report done and it came back fine. Still waiting for it in the mail. Thank goodness. We were advised not to live in the house and if we take anything out of the house it needs to be bleached or boraxed. SO now I am wandering about pictures and stuff like that. I don't want to bring this crap in the trailer. I went through a year of hell with mold in an apartment and know what it can do to me. I feel horrible listening to everyone's stories and health problems. Just sick inside because I had no idea the extent of damage it could do to a person's life. Here's my ?'s 1. What can I do to clean paper items and wood objects like son's fav wood trains? Since it is not in the air do you think it is a big deal? We called around and went through a list longer than i can count to find a lawyer who would even talk to us. finally got someone to talk to us. He told us that we need to just take what we can get with the previuos owners because we are going to have to prove that the people knew about the mold prior to us buying it. (there was a freshly painted patch that went to the plumbing and you could see mold through some of the paint and half of it was fresh paint. they had to replace the floor for what the realtro said was from lack of caulking over two years. this was a lie because the sheetrock is gone from behind the shower.) The lawyer said that the time and money we would put into this case would not get the kind of money...maybe enough to pay for damages and the trailer. I can hardly believe this. He told that Redding is just not a rich town so the judge would not award the kind of money we would need for lost items, etc. If we do find a lawyer to take this we will have to pay all of the fees and as it is the trailer will put us over the budget. 2. Have any of you taken this to court and have experiences to share??? I would really appreciate more info because I am so lost. Background: Mother in law was the selling realtor. This was our first house. WE used an FHA loan. MIL told us that we did not have to have a home inspection. Not knowing any different we took her bad advice. 3. Do you think this will be a red flag on any case that we have??? Thank you so much for your info and support. I am so sorry that I found a group out there like this because this means that this happens to other people. And I mean that in the nicest way. We are moving the computer out in the garage so I wil hopefully have more time online.
