Guest guest
Greetings! I haven't posted with this group much, but have enjoyed reading the posts over the past few years. As the father of six, two of which are on the spectrum, our 9 year son with moderate to severe austim and our 13 year old high functioning aspergers, this list has been a great source of encouragement and information. So now it time for me to hopefully contribute to the group. My wife Debbie and I have formed a non-profit foundation to help special need children and adults. Our foundation is less than two years old, but we have big dreams and a large vision. You can read about it on our new website www.anchorofhopefoundation.com One of our desires is to help educate parents and adults about therapies that are helping special needs children, especially those with autism. Therefore, the Anchor of Hope Foundation, Inc is pleased to be sponsoring the Brain Transformations I conference November 7 & 8 at Dayspring Presbyterian Church in Forsyth, Georgia. This evidence- based therapy improves executive functions and sensory integration in both children and adults struggling with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, ADD/ADHD, TBI, CVA, Autism, PDD and CP. For more information and registration, see their website www.braintransformations.com The instructors are Kennard Corlea Keeney. This is a hands on workshop. You will be taught the techniques for this therapy, then will practice them on a partner, then be observed by the instructor or one of her trained assistants to be sure you are doing them correctly. It is two solid days of training with something you can carry back home and begin immediately to implement in you and/or your child's life. You can also email me directly and I will be glad to email you a brochure, flyer or both. This is a great workshop for OT's, special ed teachers, therapists, etc. We would appreciate any help in getting this information in the schools in your area. Thanks!
