This bill is by Senator O' Leary that is a contrast to mine. It does another study. Mine actually does something to help those of us with Toxic Mold. I have told the Senator that I will not support it because it does nothing to help those of us sick. We can't wait for more studies when they already know what Toxic Mold does to us. I am tired of waiting.

My bill is attached. Look at his and see which actually does something to help. My bill is being held up in Committee and not allowed a hearing.

Thank you for letting me know about Rob's bill. What about the status of my bills on Toxic Mold, Tort Reform and Construction Lemon Laws? As I have stated before, I cannot support just another study as Rob's bill is. We are out of time. Rob knows, as well as I do, that a study is the Legislature's black hole. I had a bill sent to study by the Legislature about five years ago and it was never heard from again.

As Rob knows, we lost our health and home due to Toxic Mold caused by the State and the Town of Barnstable. They all remain in denial and cite their fifth amendment rights against self-incrimination. While it protects them and their pensions, we have lost everything.

As Rob knows, we have been very ill. Virginia has had her sight affected as well as her lungs and everything else. My entire family has been treated by Massachusetts as non-persons. Virginia had to have a tumor removed from her eye that the Doctor said was from the Toxic Mold. He said her eyes are highly infected from the Toxic Mold. Her lungs, blood and total health are ruined.

My Daughter, Granddaughter, Son and myself also have had severe illnesses from the Toxic Mold. When we requested Massachusetts, Barnstable and County Health and Safety officials to inspect, we were denied our rights of this process. Rob knows all of these facts but remains silent.

While Rob may get a feel good attitude from his bill, it helps nobody that needs help NOW! It gives Rob and the rest of the legislature an opportunity to score political and media points while we suffer. Senator Jacques has been aware of our Toxic Mold and government corruption issues for some time but has never offered to help or join in the fight against Toxic Mold or corruption. She has remained silent.

If the Legislature had passed my Tort Reform, before them since 1996, many of the Toxic Mold issues would not haunt us today. Passage of my Construction Lemon law would also put a stop to most of the reasons that cause Toxic Mold, substandard, illegal and unsafe construction knowingly allowed by government inspectors.

I know Rob understands the issue of Toxic Mold because he stood next to me during a TV news story when we discussed these issues. It seems he has forgotten the danger and importance. Remember what happened in Warwick Rhode Island earlier this year? 100 people died because government inspectors were lax in their jobs and enforcement.

How many more families must suffer from Toxic Mold like mine while the legislature allows bad inspectors to run rampant across Massachusetts? How many have already died from their failure to act responsibly? This is a critical issue that requires attention rather than media hype. Politics as usual has gone on for far too long on this issue while we suffer.
