Please can anyone tell me what they think?

I thought it was best to stay away from meat products and sweets. I

wonder now about bread, potatoes and rice.

My daughter watched the video with me when I first got it. She thought it

was strange and wasn't at all interested in trying it. It was seeing the

results that I was getting that made her finally decide to check it out. I

guess she just needed her own reasons for trying it.

Hi Jocelyne,

Does your daughter get migraines frequently? Has she ever tried hydroptherapy

for them?

During my recent pregnancy I got migraines at the end every 2 or 3 days (in

fact I even got one the day we brought our precious baby home). Since I was

pregnant and

couldn't take any medications (I don't like to use anything- especially while

pregnant) I learned about hydrotherapy from a friend who is a midwife.

It was so amazing. Normally when I have a migraine it puts me down for days.

This has worked every time that I have tried it. Let me know if you are

interested and I will tell you what I did.

,

Could you explain hydrotherapy? I have a 9 year old son who has very severe

migraines. I hate having him on the medication.

TIA,

Melinda :o)

Hi Melinda,

Sure, I will tell you what the midwife told me to do. This is amazing because

I have never had anything help me before.

Have your son sit on the edge of the bathtub (I usually put a towel under me

to make it more comfortable). Have him put his feet in the bathtub and start

filling the tub with hot water. Make the water as hot as he can stand it. Have

him soak his feet for as long as he can tolerate it. Then drain the water.

Next, add cold water as cold as he can tolerate it and do the same thing.

Have him soak in the cold water for as long as he can. Drain the water again and

then have him dry off his feet and put on some thick, heavy socks.

During the whole process, keep the bathroom lights off to keep the room as

dark as possible. Take a washcloth and get it wet with cold water. Have him hold

that over his forehead while soaking his feet. (I will often put it over my

closed eyes too, because it blocks the light out better and feels good)

The best time for me to do this is right as a migraine is coming on. I get

real confused, lose most of my eyesight etc... If I get it right away I only

have to do this once and it goes away. If it is after the headache comes on then

I will do it every half hour or so until it is gone.

Let me know if he tries it and how it goes.

Today, she saw her neurologist, he wouldn't have ordered a Depakote blood

How could she still have seizures? Is there anything we can do quickly and

easily to reduce the chances of further seizures? Thank ou,

My son was having three seizures a week ten years ago on 3,600 mg of Depakote

plus another AED daily.

It is hard to find the right dose, bood tests to see where the TOTAL and FREE

depakote levels are important, along with testing the LIVER, as Depakote can

trash it and thus provoking seizure activity.

The doctor said that two seizures since July, 2003 was not much. But those

are the only seizures I know about. Plus with her traumatic brain injury

(stair fall) and age, these " two " episodes have really regressed her recovery.

She

appeared to be doing better before the first " expected " seizure. I've been

told that all traumatic brain injury survivors end up with at least one

seizure, within approx. one year. My Mom was right on the dime.

Could a seizure take a few weeks to recover from? She gets really wiped out,

like a limp wash rag.

Thanks,

Annie

OH GOSH!

BAD MEMORIES!

My daughter was on depakote when she was 4. The neuros didnt bother testing

her that often, and she ended up in the hospital Easter morning. :(

She was sick 4 a couple of days, and she woke up on Easter lathargic.

It turned out her platelet level was 3 times lower then it was sposto be and

she was on the verge of SERIOUS liver damage.

Her hair began to fall out at this point.

I WAS MAD when i learned how important it was to check the levels and it took

my baby being poisoned off of it to realize what was happening.

Since then I have been up on all the side effects of meds, and have become

very leery of trying new ones.

Annie,

Were they tonic/clonic seizures? If they were, yes, it takes my daughter a few

days to get back to normal, mentally and physically.
