Hi everyone,

That is some interesting thinking about an adrenal exhaustion. I know

in my case stress has to contribute to my hyperT. Ever since I started

having panic attacks in 1989 my body has reacted to stress. Because of

different problems in my life I have had extra stress for almost 10

years. So I believe that my adrenal gland are exhausted. As for

cholesterol, mine was very high until I became a vegetarian. Even when

I was diagnosed with HyperT my cholesterol was good, even considering

that I am an emotional eater and eat comfort foods that are not good for

me. I know in my case stress contributes to many of my problems. I

have used herbs to help me with various problems and will pursue more

information on the adrenal glands. In the Precription for Nutritional

Healing book under adrenal disorders there is an adrenal gland function

self test. It says Normally, systolic blood pressure (the firest number

in the measurement of blood pressure - 120/80) is approximately 10

points higher when you are standing than when you are lying down. If

the adrenal glands are not functioning properly, however, this may not

be the case. Take and compare two blood pressure readings - one while

lying down and one while standing. First, lie down and rest for five

minutes. Then take your blood pressure. Stand up and immediately take

your blood pressure again. If your blood pressure reading is lower

after you stand up, suspect reduced adrenal gland function. The degree

to which the blood pressure drops upon standing is often proportionate

to the degree of hypoadrenalism. It also says that for adrenal function

all B vitamins are necessary and that the glands do not function

adequately without pantothenic acid. Vit B 100 mg twice a day plus

extra pantothenic acid (vit b5) 100 mg 3 times daily. Vit C. L-Tyrosine

aids adrenal gland function and relieves excess stress put on the

glands. (Caution Do not take tyrosine if you are taking an MAO inhibitor

drug). It says 500 mg daily on an empty stomach. Take with water or

juice. Do not take with milk. Take with 50 mg Vit B6 and 100mg Vit C

for better absorption. Its says a multivit and mineral complex with

natural beta carontene and copper plus potassium and zinc. I just

thought I would pass this information on. Dina
