Blood thinners, Vitamin K, and estrogen

Thank you, , for the info about natural blood thinners! I take a bit

over 200 IU of Vitamin E a day, but I can certainly increase it. The fish

oil also sounds like a good idea. Also, thanks for the warning about

aspartame and its effect on chromium. I no longer drink diet drinks, but I

used to drink quite a few cans a day, and I believe that I'm still

suffering the ill-effects. All the more reason to increase my chromium

intake!

Yes, I agree, --- it would be great if I could stop taking Coumadin.

None of my doctors want me to, but I've just about had it with this

compromised lifestyle. It's a tough decision, as I don't want to have

another stroke (ah, the joys of antiphospholipid syndrome!), but I have

faith that there is a more natural approach to this blood thinning

business! Also, I already have osteoporosis (and I'm 34), so I'm very

concerned about my bones. A vitamin K deficiency sounds pretty treacherous.

Yes, I believe that Coumadin has lowered my estrogen level. Right after I

started Coumadin my periods stopped (and have been gone ever since). I must

admit that my menstrual cycle was rather irregular before then, but in the

six months prior to starting Coumadin I'd had four periods, so I think the

subsequent amenorrhea is a bit more than a coincidence!

Thank you again for your concern and feedback!
