Thanks, , for your response regarding the boron. Funny you should

mention the Vitamin K/boron connection... I'm not sure how this fits in

yet, but I'm on Coumadin (a blood thinner), which destroys Vitamin K! I

wonder if this is affecting my reaction to boron. Another odd reaction,

which I attribute partially to the boron --- this morning I was incredibly

fatigued, and when I checked my blood sugar level about an hour after

breakfast, it had gone up to 153! (I usually run under 100.) Could boron

bind to chromium and other minerals that stabilize blood sugar?

Hi

I don't know if this applies to you, but this is if you use aspartame (equal,

nutrasweet, sugar-free products and diet soda's). This is from a book called

GET THE SUGAR OUT OF YOUR KITCHEN.

" Aspartame may deplete the body's supplies of chromium, a trace mineral know

to play a crucial role in sugar metabolism. Insufficient chromium leads to

insulin inefficiency, which, in turn, leads to greater insulin resistance or

carbohydrate intolerance. "

" The use of aspartame can increase sugar and carbohydrate cravings. This is

because phenylalanine, one of aspartame's conponents, blocks production of

serotonin, a neurotransmitter that sends messages from the pineal gland in the

brain. When the body's production of serotonin is out of order, a multitude

of symptoms, ranging from premenstrual syndrome to depression, can result.

Most important, insufficient serotonin causes more sugar and carbohydrate

cravings and increases the likelihood of binge eating. "

For any of the new members here are some web sites to check out as well.
