Guest guest
Maybe my comments to the media will help explain what this is all about, government corruption at all levels. Send my letter to your local media if you want. Ken Two articles, October 3 and 4, by Boston Globe reporter Raphael have shed a light on what has been happening in the Building and License Trades within Massachusetts for well over a decade. All Massachusetts Governor's since Weld and Attorneys General since Harshbarger have been told of the failures of Chief State Building Inspector Tom but they all did NOTHING! This type of situation is not uncommon in many States. The Massachusetts Secretary's of the Department of Public Safety, boss, the State Inspector General, the State Ethics Committee, the State Legislature and the FBI have also been told of all of the shortcomings of . They were all told over the past several years of his failures to enforce the State and Federal Building standards in many of the inspections he and his staff did over the years. They also knew he failed to write reports of his inspections which are required by State Law and his job description. Some of the illegal, substandard and unsafe work was done by contractors hired by the Commonwealth using Federal grant money earmarked for Handicapped citizens. The Attorney General knew of 's failures to write or turn over inspection reports when and his staff ignored written and hand delivered requests from the AG's staff during investigations into illegal and unsafe construction allowed by the very Government Building Inspectors licensed and oversaw. The Legislature, in 1993 after I had asked the legislature for help, voted to prevent citizens from any legal recourse when government inspectors broke they law. In effect, they issued a blanket pardon for any local or state government building inspector that violated the law. By passing this Law they denied citizens the Right of Due process that is guaranteed under the US Constitution. Their vote said that protecting corruption was more important than protecting the citizens. Since 1996, I have tried to overturn that Legislative pardon but the Legislature has turned a deaf ear and blind eye to the corruption they sanctioned. On many occasions I spoke and wrote to members and the leadership of the Legislature and spoke before their Committees. In my family's case, this corruption and illegal and unsafe construction I spoke of led to severe illnesses from Toxic Mold. It destroyed our health. I gave them photos and government and medical reports which told of the corruption and our serious illnesses. When your hair falls out, you have memory loss, diarrhea, vomiting, your bodies immune system is destroyed, your eye sight fails due to tumors and you become homeless due to the Toxic Mold caused by Illegal construction of the State and town, YOU DEMAND ANSWERS! Why were Tom and Barnstable Building Inspectors allowed to keep their jobs while families like mine lost everything? There is no price for our destroyed health but we lost over 750 thousand dollars financially due to our home and belongings. Many families lost their health and homes like us. How many homes, office buildings, schools, churches, nuclear plants and jails are also unsafe? How many children are in danger each day from these ongoing failures of , the State and the FBI? I told the FBI some years ago that I estimated hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars of illegal construction was allowed across Massachusetts. They never bothered to look! and his state team inspected our home in December of 1993 and we are still awaiting his report. Do you think we will ever see our report written by Tom ? The Town of Barnstable has repeatedly refused to allow their inspectors, building or health, to inspect our home since 1993. There is no Public Record that our home was ever inspected by the building department when it was built. The Government record shows it wasn't. During the inspection in 1993 by of our home in Massachusetts, he stated the unsigned building permit was the "smoking gun" against the town of Barnstable in that they knowingly allowed illegal, unsafe and substandard construction. He said it was consumer and bank fraud and our home was unsafe and worthless. He said our family's entire live savings was lost. even met with the then Barnstable Building Commissioner in 1993 and the Town Inspector wrote of doing a drive by inspection of our home with . The Town Inspector reported this drive by inspection to the then and current Barnstable Town Attorney and the then Barnstable Town Manager. I reported it to many high ranking State and Federal Officials but none cared as we became homeless. Barnstable Massachusetts is in the middle of Cape Cod Massachusetts. As many know, Cape Cod is a summer resort area visited by thousands from around the World. Sadly, many of the homes built in Barnstable over the past 25 years were allowed by the Town to be built with known substandard construction that violated State and Federal Laws. This was stated by a Town official. For those that bought homes on Cape Cod as an investment I would say you probably just lost a lot of money. For those that want to visit Cape Cod I would be concerned about staying in any of these unsafe homes with your family. You must also remember that was suppose to oversee all areas of compliance in construction across the State of Massachusetts. Remember that the next time you think of staying in a high-rise hotel in Boston during a convention or driving by a Nuclear Power plant. The glow you come home with might not be from the sun.
