BE & K/Terranext to Remedy Mold Situation At National Parks Service Visitor Center BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2003--BE & K/Terranext, LLC (Terranext) announced today they will provide environmental services at the National Park Service's (NPS) St. Croix Falls National Scenic Riverway Visitor Center located in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Terranext will conduct a mold damage assessment and provide recommended corrective actions. Systems and areas impacted by the presence of mold at the 40-year-old riverfront facility include the HVAC system and interior furnishings. Terrranext will develop a mold remediation work plan and make recommendations for interior and exterior drainage and site rebuilding with mold resistant materials. The center, that provides history and ecological details on the 252-mile scenic riverway which serves an estimated 500,000 visitors each year. The contract utilized the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule for Environmental Services held by Terranext. "As awareness of the associated health and safety risks have grown, mold remediation has boomed to a $500,000,000 annual business in the U.S. alone," said , P.E., Terranext Director of Indoor Air Quality. "In this particular contract, issued under our general services administration federal supply schedule (GSA) held with the National Parks Service, we will be addressing the risks associated with mold build up on basement utility areas, public restrooms, and NPS administration areas. Of particular concern is mitigation in the Visitors Center and the health issues associated with the HVAC system in the enclosed areas of the facility," he said.
