Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Sorry about not getting online for a few days, but I've been working on my business and putting in even more time and it seems to be paying off. I'm hoping to get to the point of being able to work online during the week before too long. My situation with my partner is an insane soap opera with new, laugh-a-minute daily revelations, but I won't take up your time with the details. Maybe someday I'll write it out as a novel. I have the solution for our group. Fortunately the new software at egroups gives me the ability to edit members so that I can moderate only those members who are abusing the posting policies. Since some of members' posts ramble, I will consolidate their information and post only what I feel is information that the other members wish to read. I would like each member who wishes to post to spend some time composing and re-writing their post so that it is concise and on-topic. Please don't send posts to the group of the nature " I agree with you. " or " That's a good idea. " Those can be sent directly to the person who wrote the post by avoiding the " Reply " button and writing directly to that person. If your post doesn't have important new information, then don't send it to the group. So far I changed two members to " Moderate this member's posts " status, so if your posts are getting posting too fast then you are in this group. Other people will be added to this group as necessary to avoid email clutter. volunteered to start a " thyroid chat " bulletin board and I think this is a good idea. Remember that anyone is free to start their own bulletin board or egroup and set up their own guidelines for discussion. If you do this, please feel free to post the address on this group site so that our members can go their if they wish. The whole reason that I started this group was that I was posting on Better Health's hyper and hypo boards and many people there weren't interested in what I wished to discuss. I would really not like to hear about " Damion " or the " Mailer Demon " again. When your mail is undeliverable (including to this group), you will get a message from the computer saying that it was not delivered. It's no big deal, so let's not talk about it. Some members occasionally get viruses and this can be indicated by seeing an attachment to their group email. It looks like Raven has one of these viruses, since all his email has an attachment. Don't open any of these attachments. The reason that Raven is getting notices from " Damion " is that many people set up their email so that they won't accept attachments (to avoid viruses). When your email has attachments, then this mail gets returned. Again, let's not talk about this in the group. When someone has important health information to share that is relevant to thyroid problems, then it's appropriate to send it to the group. If it's not about thyroid problems or you're uncertain about whether to send it to the group, send it to me and I'll forward it if I feel it's of general interest. (biomcs@...) originally wrote to the group saying that she didn't think that the nutritional supplements were helping anyone and that my ideas were wrong. Then she wrote saying that she had received email saying that she had been removed from the group. I checked and found that she was no longer a member. I didn't remove her and don't know how that happened, but I added her back to the group. I was not referring to her post when I talked about not staying on topic, and in fact her post was one of the few that was on topic. I appreciate everyone's patience with the " email clutter " problem and hope that by taking these steps we will get this problem under control and stay on track. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: hyperthyroidism - Simplifying group communications
