Guest guest
I belong to Kaiser (an HMO), but was fortunate to find an endo who lets me direct my own course of healing. He lets me get tested every 8 weeks and supports my decision not to have RAI...he also lets me decide what to do with my dosage of Tapazol. So I feel blessed to have a doctor who respects my opinions about my health and healing. I encourage people to seek out a doctor whom they feel is a PARTNER in their healing, rather than one who plays " God " . Secondly, my endo told me that while attending a medical convention, he had heard about a woman who completely cured her HyperT with yoga...and guess what??!! I tracked her down. (Actually she found me.) I'm meeting with her tomorrow. Here's the scoop: Thyroid conditions run in her family. In 1994 she was diagnosed with Graves and had all the yucky symptoms. She went to India and met with a healer who used yoga to cure illness. She learned certain yoga positions and worked with them. She has had NORMAL blood tests since 1995 with no change in diet and has NEVER taken medication. She did mention that she's a vegetarian, however. I will find out more tomorrow regarding any supplements she may be taking. She is going to teach me the yoga positions ( I'm paying $100 for the session). This woman owns a yoga studio in San Francisco. If any of you live or travel to the Bay Area and want her name/number, let me know. I'm very excited about this. Guest guest
Dear Esther, Good luck with the yoga! In China, 90% of thyroid illness is cured with acupuncture and herbs; perhaps in India, most people use yoga (people must have done something before the advent of Western medicine, with its toxic drugs and invasive procedures). I'm curious though: did this woman have a yoga studio before she went to India, or did she learn these poses and decide to charge for them? (I would have been more impressed had she offered to show you what she had learned free of charge; hopefully she is on the up-and-up.) Again, best of luck--let us all know how it works out.
