Guest guest
wow guess I missed this post. I seem to always miss some. I dont know why that is. Are we fighting again? I would like to think we all want the same thing. Its hard to know whos doing what. We all want help and relief and the mold sickness gone from our bodies. I would like to think that EVERYONE is working in that direction. Maybe I am too optimistic and I dont really know facts, but just had to write that I guess. Thanks, Janet
Guest guest
Dear , I will try and answer you point for point: MCB: " Your questions you say are very relevant. May I ask relevant to whom? " VL: I am a consumer reporter. The answers to my questions should be relevant to every consumer and to every person who wants to see the mold issue gain and retain the credibility it deserves. As we all know, there is too much fraud. If people (not just victims, ANYONE) is asked to give money to a nonprofit organization, it should be one. MCB: " The Foundation on the other hand was formed for donations and I wrote a letter to the State of Missouri some time back advising that we had never recieved any donations in the State of Missouri for the Foundation. I will not establish it as a non-profit until we recieve notice of donation. " VL: To me this sounds like you are putting the cart before the horse. I find it hard to believe that you have not had one single donation despite all your hard work and efforts on behalf of mold victims. Not one person has responded to your requests for donations? Not even after the floods? (See post below.) , I have no problem with you helping mold victims. If you spend hours on the phone helping or consoling them, that is wonderful. My concern is when you solicit money from people who assume you are a nonprofit organization when you are not. My concern is when people are chagred a " membership " and they receive nothing for that membership. There is no way for people to tell if the money you collect for memberships goes to newsletters, filing lawsuits, or your own pocket. If you work with Congress to get emergency appropriations for families, that's wonderful. My question is, however, is how is that money to be distributed? I would be uncomfortable seeing any of it wind up in Foundation hands as it is NOT a nonprofit organization. Vicki A word to others in this group. This is not " fighting. " This is a discourse that directly impacts you. While it would be nice if everyone could hold hands and sing " Kumbya, " the fact of the matter is that someone needs to ask the tough questions in order for victims' credibility to be maintained. ********************************************************************* MAry Carrol Bowers post: SNB NEWS, ABI AFFILIATE, NEWSBRIEF, 5/20/03 > > With over 412 tornadoes across the midwest in six days, there was plenty of stories and photos to cover. Guest guest
When I found out about this mycotoxin effect, I felt it was my " civic duty " to help out others who were having their lives destroyed. I found many hundreds of people in varying stages of mold reactivity. I described the effects and the clues that led me to my conclusions, and how I had fought with all the local doctors about the impossibility of this phenomenon. I hear people tell their stories that are full of the same clues that told me that it truly was mold that was affecting me. I explain the whole deal to them and then they go to their doctors, are told that this is impossible and drop any idea of connecting mold to their complaints. My friends tell me I lack credibility because " You ain't Da Doctor " . I would have thought that people would respond to the clues that they get from their own bodies and that any further verification would be unnecessary. I thought that people would trust their own reactions before the word of a doctor who contradicts their very complaints and tell them " It's all in your head " . I am stunned and amazed at just how wrong I was. -
