Guest guest
Amy, Sounds like you are having thyroid storms and it sounds like they mild they don't know what causes them. I would stay away for ant stimulants and try to stay calm. Raven Amy wrote: > Can someone explain thyroid rushes to me? Guest guest
Thanks for the email. I feel like i'm losing my mind today. Snapping at everyone every which way. The dr never called fri night so, we're waiting until monday to find out the labs. I was shaking this morning so bad that I dropped something, then I got mad and threw something else, then I cried for 15 minutes and stood out in the snow so I could cool off. I feel so bad for my DH - he doesn't understand anything going on. I try to explain, but since he wasn't around when I was first diagnosed graves he just doesn't get it. I think he thinks I'm pretty wacko. I aggree!! Guest guest
Dear Amy, Don't worry--you're not crazy. I remember when I had Graves--how shakey and angry I was. I screamed at my poor husband all the time! I made him understand that this was part of my illness, so he never got offended--if I was "off the wall," he would just try to soothe me or laugh it off--both of which I found helpful. At work I was angy all the time, and snapped at people before I could stop myself. The only good thing was that I was losing so much weight that I could eat anything I wanted, all the time. I ate things I hadn't let myself eat in years, and still kept losing weight! I am one of the success stories--as those who have been on this board a while know, I got better after a few months. I took Tapezole and Atenol, modified my diet, and changed some of the supplements I'd been taking. Lots of time, Graves goes into remission, especially if you catch it early. After I got better, I was back to my usual "charming" self--e.g., always assertive, sometimes bitchy, somewhat high strung--but that intense anger went away. So, hang in there and don't worry. Make those around you understand that your anger is part of your illness, you are not "crazy," and that you're working on getting well. Best of luck, AntJoan
Guest guest
Amy, I use to get that way and I had no idea what was going on... I was driving home one night and someone was on my bumper so close it scared me it was raining and at night, so I speed up about five miles an hour and after a little while the car was on my bumper again... I WAS PISSED so i speed up this happened two more times. Then I looked back and the car turned on it's blue lights. I was soo pissed I stopped the car jumped out and was in this guys face before he could open his door! He was a cop. It took quit a while to cool down after that. He gave me a ticket for speeding and I went home. I know the guy was scared. It still makes me laugh. I had no idea at the time what was going on I did not even go to a doctor for a month or two after that. I would try to calm down I would be still and try to do nothing or I would walk around in circles to calm down for hours and I would think because what was going on was not normal.
