Guest guest
Lovette, Your letter is wonderful! You're very articulate and convincing. By the way, if you don't mind my asking... what were your children's symptoms that prompted you to have them tested? My daughter is 6, and she's basically quite healthy, but sometimes she seems inappropriately fatigued to me. She also has a few mild food allergies, and has had a couple of asthma attacks, also mild. She has no cognitive or neuro deficits that I can determine. She has had at least one embedded tick on her, though, when she was just a toddler (before I knew anything about Lyme and was falsely told not to worry if there was no bullseye). My current doctor doesn't want to test her with no symptoms, and given the fact that he uses SKB labs (ack) and our HMO won't pay for anything else, I'm wondering if it's worth it to spend $300 (a big sum for me) to get her tested just on the chance that she might be sick, even with no symptoms. Any other opinions from others on the list? Jean
