Guest guest
Doug, I also read a recent study that showed a majority of Parkinsonism people were discovered to have hyperthyroidism and once that was dealt with their Parkinsonism improved as well. I don't think we can say for sure Lupus is next, but my understanding of Lupus is that your body is fighting it's own tissue and this is certainly the case with us. I suspect though, that many people with hyperthyroidism don't progress to Lupus. As a nurse I never saw the connection in my practice, though I admit I had only a handful of patients and friends with one or the other but never both. I believe we have different parts of our immune system fighting a different part of our body and so have different symptoms than those with Lupus or Rhuematoid Arthritis. I have to say that my experiences as a nurse with all three of these, we have the lesser of the three evils and so perhaps we ought not dwell on our condition but on the benefits we still have in life. Easy for me to say, It's been less than a year for me! Just my two cents, Le Ann
