Guest guest
Does anyone know how long it takes for a hyperthyroid person to be able to tolerate the heat? My labs have been in the normal range for three months now. The weather is heating up again and I still have trouble being outdoors even for short periods. Got back indoors after watering my plants and I still can't cool off. My face felt so hot I thought it would explode! My hands continue to be warm all the time and they sweat even when indoors with air conditioning. Also my heart continues to " thump " once in a while and continues to skip beats almost once a day. Will these symptoms resolve over time? Thanks, Sandy
Guest guest
Hi Sandy, Your symptoms should resolve, but heat intolerance can be related to other causes including genetic tendencies. I had the worst problems with heat intolerance when I was on diuretics (for puffy eyes), and my potassium got too low. Nutrient deficiencies will make heat intolerance worse and so will anything that contributes to dehydration. Estrogen/progesterone imbalances can also cause these problems. Take care, Elaine
Guest guest
Hi, It's not just intolerance to cold- it's a thermal chamaelon- can cope with high or low. Typical hypo symptom. Guest guest
I can't cope with either - but this weather is intolerably hot, most people I know are hiding indoors today so I don't think it's good for anyone, hypo or not. It's days like this when I miss the air conditioning at work. Roll on the inevitable thunder storm that always happens when it gets this hot..... ; ) Bunny > > > Hi, > It's not just intolerance to cold- it's a thermal chamaelon- can cope with high or low.
