I understand that the liver's prime job is to filter the blood, and carry the

waste

somewhere else and allowing the filtered

blood to flow to the next receptcle. If the liver is made to work hard, it will

do

its job poorly.

Next to the heart, the liver is the second most important organ in the body,

performing several hundred different functions.

The liver is continually assaulted with a wide variety of chemicals present in

the

food we eat, thebevarages we drink, and the drugs which many people routinely

take.

Most degenerative and autoimmune disorders create a breakdown in the liver

functions.

-If you have a sluggish liver, it should positively respond to varying amounts

of

vitamin A.

-Such as found in Apricots which is high in provitamin a or betacarotene.

-Beet root juice which basically is a blood building herb, detoxifies the blood

and

then renews it with minerals and naturals sugars.

-Parsnip-rooted chervil: the roots of the chervil is very much like carrots and

contains those components like chlorophyll, mineral salts, vitamins and enzymes

necessary for this regrowth transformation required in liver problems.

- Red and black currants have trace elements, one of the very few plant foods

that

contain a sufficient variety of trace elements to benefit the whole body. Red

currant juice is wonderfully antiseptic and good for liver jaundice.

- Dandelion juice or tea is another excellent remedy for the liver, especially

the

leaf and flower as being very high in vitamin A (helenin) and vitamin B.

Now about the thyroid , its main job is to produce thyroxine (or T4). This

hormone's role is to stimulate or regulate almost all of the body's metabolic

processes and many of its other functions.

The T4 also facilitates the following bodily functions:

cell productoin

oxidation in all body tissues

repair of damaged/diseased body tissues

sugar liberation from the liver to the blood stream

the heart beat

brain and special sense activity

normal cell growth

I will stop here , there is heaps more. I may continue this tomorrow.

Your welcome! My friend told me to buy this book called " Healing Through

Whole Foods " and its quit a benefical book, written by Pitchford, its

Oriental Traditions and Modern Nutrition and once you get past the yin and

yang stuff it really tells you what we've been doing to ourselves.

Unfortunately its 600 pages and cost around $30.00 but worth the cost. Hope

all turns out well for you. This book does talk about cleansing your liver

and I've never seen as long as your using something none toxic that this

practice can't hurt you. As another article I read says, Death starts in

the colon, and a cleasing will help all of the system. I can't figure out

my niche in all this as my thyroid was removed several years ago after they

thought I had cancer but it turned out to be a bad reading by someone and

now I'm dependent upon Synthroid to keep me in balance. Interesting

information coming across this site though, has helped me see some of the

crap I'm subjected to at the hands of doctors. I'm so happy I saw a little

article in a magazine with 's name on it and wrote him, the best thing I

ever did. Thanks all for all the interesting information.
