Guest guest
There are several books discussing health effects of mold and other sick building issues. Most are rather technical, and not likely to become best sellers. Look on the web site for American Concerence for Governmental Industrial Hygienists, www.acgih.org for a big selection. One to be particualrly highlighted is " Bioaerosols: Assessment and Control " . This was written by several experts in the field of indoor air quality. Elsevier Science published an interesting book in 1994 titled " Health Implications of Fungi in Indoor Environments " . It also is mostly technical, but has an excellent, easy to understand introductory chapter. Some university environmental engineering departments are using McGraw-Hill's " Indoor Air Quality Handbook. All these books are expensive, $100 or more. A more affordable and well written book aimed at consumers is Jeff May's " My House is Killing Me " , available in paperback around $30 on amazon.com and in some bookstores. This book only lightly mentions the health effects, but offers excellent thoughts on problem causes and how to remedy them. Don't forget to read some web articles. One of the best is " Is Indoor Mold Contamination a Threat to Health? " by Harriet M. Ammann, Ph.D., D.A.B.T. This is found at: http://www.doh.wa.gov/ehp/oehas/mold.html Gil Date: Mon, 26 Jan 2004 17:01:36 -0000 From: " variousgroups " <ultramarin@...> Subject: Books on Toxic Mold in Buildings, Any Best Sellers? Have there been any books in the last few years on toxic mold in buildings, and about toxic mold's effects on the people living in them? Have there been any best sellers? _________________________________________________________________ Get a FREE online virus check for your PC here, from McAfee. http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963
