Guest guest
You seem to confuse the difference between common mold and Toxic Mold. You use quotes from the EPA but the EPA has flip flopped on the issue for two decades depending on what the Special Interests in Washington want. Here are a few facts that you missed in your story. Stachybotrys atra is considered a cousin of Anthrax by the US Military. It was used by the Russians in Afghanistan in the 1980's. They found it didn't kill or incapacitate fast enough and it don't react the same on everybody. According to the Head of the EPA, attached letter, Mold can be very serious to those most at risk. The study the EPA mentions is still ongoing after over two years. The former Chair of the IOM study has been a paid "expert" witness in Courts for insurance companies fighting Toxic Mold. By the way, when the EPA was asked to look into the issue of Toxic Mold in homes they said they had no authority to do so. Those that asked were President Bush and Senator Ted Kennedy. These are facts that need to be presented to the Public. For those of us ill and suffering from exposure to Toxic Mold, we know the dangers and try and survive them everyday. Guest guest
We know about the EFFECTS of toxic mold by observation and we know that the military knows all about the value of mycotoxins ie: " Yellow Rain " . What we don't have is a definition of what components of mold and how much of them makes mold toxic to whom? -
Guest guest
I am familiar with your story. If I am in a store I can smell a "mold spot". My reactivity is like yours. I dont need another definition. I told one doctor he had mold coming from his air vent in the waiting room. He looked at me like I was crazy then couldnt get me out fast enough. I cant even keep plants as the soil has mold and it bothers me. I smell mold on peoples clothes. Its been a year away from that dungeon of hell I worked in and Im still that reactive. Ive settled a little since seeing a kinisiologist. Unless you "feel" it you dont understand it.
