AntJoan, how semi-vegetarian are you? My diet had certainly been more

focused on fruits and vegetables, lots of salads, etc. before being

diagnosed with Graves' disease because I was always weight conscious and

wasn't very serious about any exercise program. I love to walk and to swim,

but I'd gotten lazy. Any exercise which feels like work became work and I

ALREADY had a more than a full-time job!

I find that I have definite protein cravings which aren't satisfied, on a

daily basis, by eggs, soy, or dairy products. I do love an omelet or

fritatta, using frozen egg whites, lots of veggies and some low-fat cheese.

Nuts are grand, but they are too calorie-laden. Perhaps it's a psychological

thing, but I feel better when I have some chicken or fish and there are

certain times when ONLY a bit of really good beef will do: something

properly marinated and cooked to perfection on the grill. I find that I

often feel REALLY hungry several times a day now, but once I've begun

eating, I lose interest and rarely finish my meals, even if they were once

considered " normal " portions. Perhaps several " mini-meals " would be a

solution for me. Who's had experience with this? Thanks!

Bonner
