Guest guest
Theoretically speaking. How would one go about constructing a reduced mold dwelling? Guest guest
Re; Reduced mold dwelling. I have about a zillion ideas on this subject, which would be better discussed on the SickBuildings list, but I think it would be good to warn people on this list that it is not necessary to have mold in your home to be blasted out by spores. Stachybotrys in a neighbors house or spewing from sewer vents will have the same effect on you. It doesn't much matter to your lungs and immune system if Stachy spores drift into your face from your own bathroom or from the moldy house down the street. Making sure your own house is not growing mold is no guarantee that it isn't drenched in spores from somewhere else. -
Guest guest
A friend of mine was looking to buy some property in Texas and was flying down to inspect some properties that were for sale at a price that was almost " too good to be true " . " Not near Dripping Springs and Toxic Tara? " I asked half-jokingly. " What's that? " So I told him the whole mold thing and warned him against any suspiciously good deals. " These realtors will knowingly sell you a moldy house and you'll be hating life in no time. " I said. Amazingly enough, one of the places was only twenty miles away from Dripping Springs. When he got back, he had the most interesting story to tell me. The place was absolutely dripping with mold. He felt it as soon as he walked in. The owner with whom he had been negotiating had just died. The widow was still willing to carry on with the sale. As he felt his lungs tighten up and smelled the mustiness in the house, he turned to the realtor and asked " I heard that you've been having some mold problems here in Texas. Do you think it is safe to buy here? " and as my friend related to me later " The realtor took two steps back and turned white as a sheet. " Up until then, it had looked like an unbelievably good deal and my friend was most thankful for my warning. He said " Thank God you told me about the mold or I would have bought that place. " So watch out for those realtors who are doing the " Texas Two Step " . -
