Guest guest
After the birth of my oldest daughter in 2003, I lost a lot of weight. In seeing an Endo I was dx with post partum thyroiditis. I had an u/s done AND the RAU test to find I had several nodules that were HOT. Fast forward another child later a new endo and two bone scans later (osteopenia but replacement of bone after calicum supplements) and I had another u/s last week. Here's what the radiologist report said: " The isthmus measures 2.26 cm in thickness. The right lobe measures 1.2x1.0x3.2. The left lobe measures 1.5 x 2.0 x 3.75cm. The dominant nodule in the left thyroid lobe measuring 3.2 x 1.8 x 1.3 cm replaces the majority of the left thyroid lobe. Within the nodule there is a cystic componet as well as Doppler flow. This lesion previously measured 2.7 x 1.2 x 1.7 cm. Smaller nodules within the right thyroid lobe are essentially unchanged from previous study " What in the world does this mean? I'm assuming b/c it says cystic that it is fluid filled and should still be functioning (hot) and not solid or cancerous. Anyone have any help for me? Thanks! dana
