I am away from my building and have been residing in a hotel for about 4 months.

I can never go back. One of the things that the mold did was to shut down my

system

so that I became allergic to many foods. Milk, cheeses, dried fruit, and I need

to be on

a a special diet to keep from becoming sick. One of the molds I was exposed to

was

Penicillium/ Aspergillus. Besides making me ill it did have an effect on my cat.

I am on a medication which is an MAO inhibitor--Parnate. On this medication

there is

a food restriction about eating anything with a high tyramine content-- aged

cheeses, red wine and many others. The doctors just roll their eyes when I

mention a

possible connection. At the moment I am ill from what appears to be unrealated (

I

have my doubts) with some type of bladder pain that looked like a UTI. Since I

had

radiation about 7 years ago, there is the possibility that it is due to that.

Until I take

more tests I won't know. The cramping is severe as well as the fatigue. I am

near the

SF Bay Area. I did contact a Dr. in Redwood City but the prices are so high that

even

with insurance I couldn't afford it. I do have a good allergist. The form that

my doctor

gave me ( along with many vitamins to take) come from a company call Mast

Immuosystems, in Mountain View, Ca. I was not able to contact them or find them

on

the internet. I hope this makes some sense as it is difficult to write feeling

this ill. I

would like to thank everyone who has given me so much information. It is lonely

here

often, especially around the holidays.

Thanks,

Lori K.

Lori.

When I first became sick from my building I could only eat two things as my immune system had gone way out of whack. It has been a year now. Alot of that has calmed down but I still have to avoid mold with a vengance. I see a kinesiologist and it seems to be helping.I can now eat many more foods but stay away from the yeast products.
