Sensible Mold Solutions

As the developer and webmaster for www.911mold.com, I have had the

opportunity to spend nearly 15 solid months doing little else but

reading about mold and related subjects. My original quest to

develop the 911mold.com site was an attempt to offer insight and

simple to locate information and resources for home and property

owners.

My professional background for the past 20 years has been in the

commercial building industry. I was not exposed to the toxic mold

issue until last year when attending a trade show I was approached

by a couple who told me about thier mold problem. They described

tome their situation and smiled and went about my business. I did

tell them I would look into their issue and get back to them. My

only interest in mold at the time was offering information about

Icynene Insulation Foam. One of the benefits of the product is the

air-sealing characteristics and the manner in which it helped reduce

moisture within a building structure.

It took me nearly 5 months to come up with an answer for the couple,

but I did have some information to share with. I offered the

information for no other reason than I wanted to help two beautiful

people who had been screwed by the realtor who sold them their house

and the ever growing mushrooms which were growing under their

carpet.

During that 5 months I continued to study mold and began working

with a local water intrusion specialist who convinced me water is

the culprit behind any mold problem and that if you dealt with the

moisture, you can colve the mold. s - the building

forensic expert - was and is of the opinion that the mold industry

is being driven by the " Mold Miners " who have a vested interested in

knocking down your walls and " remediating " your property at major

expenses.

I also was exposed to the throngs of " Mold Inspectors " and " Mold

Doctors " whose only purpose is to scare the hell out of you and

charge $500-$1000 inspecting your home for mold.

It was in this light that I also began investigating

possible " sensible " solutions to mold problems. I began receiving

numerous emails from people all over the country who were looking to

solve their mold problem but were unable to spend the kinda of money

it would cost to " remediate " .

Nearly 15 months into this project and close to personal bankruptcy -

I personally built the 911mold site by myself and worked day and

night for the past 11 months to bring " sensible " solutions to our

visitors - I have discovered some very " sensible " economical,

effective and safe solutions to combat mold. Honestly, I learned

there were numerous mold and mildew solutions - sprays - heating -

freezing - and many other ways to kill mold - but none were as

simple and effective as the Siamons Mold Controlling solution which

I made available on our site. Don't get me wrong, I have met and

work with many many reputable testing companies and remediatioin

contractors throughout the country - there are some " Big Mold "

problems which require their work. But I am convinced 80% of most

household mold problems can be treated simply and effectively

without paying thousands of dollars.

moisture, indoor air quality, environmental health and mold than you

will ever need, but there is also some very simple easy to find

information there about minimizing mold and controlling it.

Becoming a " Mold expert " was not my first goal in life - in fact I

have done many other things, but in a way it is my most important

accomplishment. I am reminded of this everytime I read a news

headline about a family who lost their home to mold, or of a school

or court house that had to be closed down. When I read these

articles I reminded how much further we have to go to truly combat

this issue. In the meantime, I will continue to look for sensible

solutions to mold and make them available to our guest and friends

who visit our site.
