Guest guest
I suffered from hyperthyriodism for many years. It went into remission and then returned in 2009. I recieved radio active iodine for it. for my alternative was sudden death, just one of the side effects of hyperthyriodism. so with that news, i realized i wasnt in remission anymoreand i took the rai treatment. now after about a year and a half i am more overweight than ever. It sickens me with the wieght gain of becoming permently hypothyriod. But I really wasnt left with a choice. I do have a very good endocrynologist but I am told that it takes about three years to get all the hormone meds right. (I wasnt informed about this by anyone who gave me the RAI treatment). They just keep adjusting my medication and want to get me down to my normal weight. also I did not know that hyperthyroidism can cause you to gain wieght as well. In the begining it causes you to lose an unhealthy wieght loss then after a period of time you wieght gain. I was going through that, my first endocrynologist did not inform me about this, so I thought I would pass it along. To all of you who suffer from this horrid disease I hope the best for you. And please take all the options available to you. wishing you all the best in this disease pg
